Referrals?

I have just noticed something new saying "referrals" below everybody's name and post count. What does this mean?

I have no doubt about your intentions but you seem unaware that installing extensions on SMF is like pilling on chairs to climb on top. It is bound to crumble at some point, you can't know when and removing one can have unfortunate consequences.

It's really not to be done lightly.
