So... I have to walk on eggs to be sure never to insult any group may it be religious, cultural or other and get a little "warning" sign next to my profile when you feel I haven't walked carefully enough (even though I'm unclear what warning means) and you don't? How come?

I found this site thru' my gf, Lorrie.  I guess we'll be doing this board together as her English is not yet up to par.    As far as faux-pas goes, Mr. Dan, I fly the Canadian flag first and foremost, the Québec flag just under it (cause I'm a proud Québecer) and the Finnish flag under that one cause of heredity.

I love Finland. But my issue is not with flags. It's with how the rules are applied. I had a disagreement with a Republican about his party's actions and Danee locked the thread for fear I'd offend that guy (I didn't by the way, he confirmed) while she can express hate for the whole party. I had another topic locked because I pointed out an abuse in the mormon church and it might offend people who are mormons while Danee can insult a large swat of US' religious folks. Topics other people start which might be vaguely political are locked while the obamacare one is ongoing because it has Danee's approval.

My point is that I really have to walk on eggs about any cultural, religious or political group because anything might offend them while Danee can insult anyone she damn want. We are told to shut up because things are "controversial" unless Danee approves of them and then she'll blast the opposing side.

Really, it's not about the flag, it's about an ongoing problem on this board. And since it matters here, I received support both by PM and MSN for daring to speak up on that issue in my last message.

Ok, fair enough.  You had your say, and were able to vent what you perceive to be wrong doings and now, I will have mine and that will be it.  Fair enough.

I did lock that thread as it was not going positive and there were previous instances of complaints levied against you, for refusing to allow a person to state their feelings, even after a couple of attempts to do so, without a come-back. It was irritating to the membership and staff.  Yes, I locked that and said why.  Other staffers have also said in the open forum that they also, try to avoid conversations with you on the forum as you simply, will not allow things to lie when you disagree.  So, yes, I locked it.

Hate for the party? If someone said they hated my party, that's fine.  Sure its fine. I don't hate by the way.  I sometimes abhor but not hate.  I dislike the party but I there is no-one in this community who I hold in bad taste due to their politics.  One is personal, the other is general.  Theres a strong difference.  I do respect and even in some cases, chat or get on super well with some of those who do not share my political views on here. Its respect that is what the key here.  Not the person.  At least, not any one on here.  Outside? Sure.  Some I dislike immensely.  Inside, no.

Your comments and that of others at the time, were in direct contravention (and I explained it to the people involved, one who actually deleted their post after reading what they wrote) of our rules.  Just as your inflammatory post about the Pope was deleted by another staffer a couple of weeks ago. Its our rules. You don't follow them. You acknowledge they exist, but don't follow them.

Topics others start which might be vaguely political are locked?  Listen..thats a lie.  When it gets to the situation where respect and downtalking comes into play then moderators will act.  Believe it or not dear Dan-who-I-brought-here-from-another-forum-where-you-were-in-constant-hot-water-with-the-staff, I dont lock many topics at all.  We have a wonderful staff here and some have less patience for you then I do. I step back when they discuss it.  One tries to be the go between but gives up pretty much as you simply dont get it.

And on that topic, I am locking this.  You had your say, I took time to rebuke what you said and your preceptions and now, its over, at least for now.  Folow the rules, use respect, and it will be fine.  Don't and time you moved to somewhere else and I believe I speak for the entire crew here and many members who feel the same. Some even left over your downtalking to them.

I do not insult a large segment of religious folks on here. Untrue.     Error.  Wrong. Misleading.  (kind words)

We worked for weeks before going public, as a team, almost a year ago, to make rules and setdown how WE wished this forum to be.  It is, how it is because we wanted that and that presence, not changing all the time the rules to suit. Its a team deal here, Dan. And, you either think, ok, I accept that and the rules and understand, despite your comment to one long ago, 'that we are not in the business of taking care of kids' that it IS a youth forum and THAT is who we cater and protect and that means from anyone, period. Dont like it?  Go.  And, the best of good wishes.  I am one of many and the many, is the membership, not an administrator and I for one, have had enough of it.  And, one final word? Dont go saying you get pms and things supporting you when I can assure you, we get so many all the time saying, Im not coming back till he leaves, or stops what he is doing to this forum.
