Turning off notification for new announcements

Hi folks,
is there a way to disable e-mail notifications for new announcements? Personally, I use e-mail for formal communication (and, of course, registrations) only, and check the forums I frequent multiple times a day, which cannot be said about my e-mail consumption. Hence I do not benefit from this notification feature, but receive unneeded e-mails whenever a new announcement is made, which is happening abnormally often around here. I could not find an option to disable this "feature" in my profile options, so any pointers on how to get rid of this are appreciated. I would hate to store IYNO on my Anti-Spam list permanently.

No, sorry Delta.  It is, how it is here.  Annoying that it might be.  Suggest: making a new email acct. and changing your profile. I know someone else who has done this.  We like the annoucement aspect of this forum, actually.
